Working hard to help TVU students: US

New Delhi: The United States on Thursday said it was “working hard” to assist Indian students facing hardships after the closure of California-based Tri-Valley University (TVU) and resolve the issue in “a fair and just manner”.

Sudesh Sood passed away on Wednesday, Feb 16.

Sudesh Sood was from the Class of 66, Chemical.  After graduating he went to the Illinois Institute of Tech alongwith Suresh Borkar and Deepak Bammi.  He was based in Shimla and looked after his family business since he returned.

New Delhi: The Delhi high court in an important ruling recently has held that a candidate appearing for the prestigious JEE or GATE conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) has the right to access information or records relating to the exam under the RTI Act.

NEW DELHI: A trial court on Friday directed the CBI, anti-corruption branch of Delhi Police and police officials of Parliament Street to report on the action taken by them on 18 specific complaints of corruption in Commonwealth Games (CWG) made by several "eminent citizens" of the country last year.

U.S.-based IIT Alumni receive 2011 Padma Shri for Science and Engineering

Dr. Mani Lal Bhaumik, IIT Kharagpur Alum and Dr Subra Suresh IIT Madras alum have been honored for their significant contributions in the field of Science and Engineering.

Dr. Bhaumik, a known physicist has contributed for the development of a particular type of laser ray used for Lasik corrective eye surgery, which results in removing the need for glasses or contact lenses.
