CO2 Sequestration Technologies for Clean Energy
Published by Daya Publishing House, pp 205, ISBN No. 81-7035-660-1, it has 16 chapters dealing with clean energy technology relating to CO2 sequestration by capturing and fixing it away from the atmosphere**. Issues in CO2 capture and efficacy of various fixation approaches are discussed in detail. In Chapters 1 to 6 corporate and government responses to address climate change issue, an overview of various pathways of CO2 sequestration with policy perspectives and CO2 capture research are presented. Chapters 7 to 14 describe biological methods of post combustion CO2 sequestration dealing with microalgae and microbial research. Approach to storage of CO2 in ocean waters and fertilization of phytoplankton using CO2 sequestration in presence of iron filing as catalyst and with soil and vegetation sequestration of CO2 in forest ecosystem are discussed. The CO2 mitigation strategies & issues in oil and power sectors, carbon pricing and financing issues in the context of greenhouse gas emissions and clean energy fuels are also included.
This book is very useful for the scientists, technologists and policy makers working on clean environment and climate change.
