IIT Alumni Get Together in Dubai – 18^th June, 2010

The IIT Delhi Alumni group in Dubai took the lead in organizing a Pan IIT alumni get together in Dubai on 18^th June at the Leadership hall in SP Jain Institute, Dubai Academic City.

Following are some highlights from the event:

- 92 alumni attended from all IITs.

- Consul General for India in Dubai, Shri Sanjay Verma was the Chief Guest and also in panel. He concluded by saying that when he agreed to our invite, he had said he will be available at a day's notice, now he is committing he will be available within few hours' notice to work with us and take the 'Brand India Building' initiative forward.

- Had a phenomenal panel discussion on ‘How IIT Alumni can help in building Brand India in the Middle East’ - audience, panelists all were completely involved - outcomes include forming working groups to execute actions on how to build Brand IIT (use it to build Brand India) here in the Middle East. Consul General has invited us to start working with the Indian Brand Equity Foundation and develop an execution plan.

-         Lots of alumni have committed to volunteer for future activities and events. Overall lots of future actions have opened up – including brand building, marketing activities, entrepreneurial groups, CSR activities, cultural/sports events et al. We now need to carefully assimilate all the points, and build a team to start executing on those.
