Status update - 85 Reunion -

Dear Friends,

The Silver Jubilee Reunion is running on track.  Nearly 100 batch mates have already pre-registered for the Reunion to be held on 26-28 December, 2009 at IIT Delhi.

You may like to check out your friends in list.

Further, it is heartening to note that many of our friends are making personal contributions to the organization of the event.  Mr. Ashok Agarwal, (81255, TT) has contributed 25K & Mr. Vinay Piparsania,  (80205,ME) Rs.10K. 

We need such more contribution in both cash and kinds (YOUR TIME).

Dear Friends,

A Silver Jubilee Reunion comes once in a lifetime, and for the batches of '85, this is the year when we will come together again. This will be the opportunity to relive the five/four years of “LIVE LIFE KING SIZE”, a chance to meet so many of our batch-mates who were once an indivisible part of our lives. Relive the memories of our campus GADARs, of classes bunked and test 'maxed' with 'gole fundaas', of all those late night movies and late nite FUNDOO DISCUSSIONS in hostel corridors and at krishan lal.

The silver reunion of 1985 batch is scheduled for 26th (Saturday), 27th (Sunday) and 28th (Monday) December 2009. In 1985 there were two batches of B.Tech i.e. 1980-85 (5-year) and 1981-85 (4-year). Graduates of these batches, as well as M.Tech, MSc and PhD students who passed out of the portals of IIT Delhi in 1985 are invited to join the event.

Programme

The event will start with a registration on 26th at 4 pm and would end post-lunch on the 28th by 6 pm. The tentative programme is as follows. Any changes and/or updates will be communicated directly to registered participants and also at the yahoogroup mail id.

 Visit to respective hostels - meeting wardens, staff & students
 
12.00 noon - 5.00 p.m
 Fun and Games and other outdoor activities in the Fields interspersed with outdoor lunch. Group Photograph.
 
6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m
 Indoor fun  (cultural activities and games) in SAC.

 Visit to the Departments including tea with staff and faculty
 
12.30 - 1.30 p.m
 Common Lunch at Main Guest House along with faculty. Family can stay back after lunch for activities.
 
2.30-4.00 p.m
 Meeting with the Senate (without families) including presentations by the Director and Deans followed by a feedback session by alumni.
 
4.00-6.00 p.m
 Tea at Director's Lodge with family and closure

Sponsorship

This is a self-financed event. All are invited to generously contribute towards sponsoring this Reunion since the total subscriptions may be unable to cover the net expenses of the event. Corporate contributions will be highlighted in the Souvenir to be published after the event and also during the events through banners and posters. The event will also find a place in leading newspapers and magazines.

Accommodation at Campus

We have at our disposal 25 double rooms on twin sharing basis at the two IIT Guest Houses. These will be released on a first-come first-served basis after confirmation of your registration. You need to fill in the request on the registration form.

Room rates are between Rs. 350-700 per night at present but are subject to renewal anytime. No advance payment is needed to be made if you avail of this facility. Your reservation should not be assumed to be confirmed, unless you receive a confirmation from us over email. The rooms are available for dates between December 25th and 29th (both days inclusive). You will have to make your own arrangements for additional days before or after these dates. There will be no "single" occupancy in IIT Guest house. Single registrants will have to share rooms. For those with families - an additional room at full payment can be available. You can request for “extra mattress” for a third/fourth family member, we’ll try & make it available only if this is feasible; else you’ll have to pay for an additional half/full room charge as applicable.

Please also note that room reservations are not transferable. If you cancel your reservation or don’t show up, these will be released for re-allotment based on a first-registered policy.
