Vikram
Buddhi, an alumnus of IIT Bombay, was doing his double Ph.D. in pure
and applied mathematics from Purdue University, USA. Back in April
2006, on false and concocted grounds he was framed in a criminal case
in USA. He was held guilty in a Jury trial under 871 of Title 18 of US
Code without proving his linkage with the evidence. US law, US
constitution and US Supreme Court judgments were kept at bay during the
trial of the case by Judge T. Moody. He is languishing in prison for
last 3.5 years waiting for sentencing to be announced. We must unite and exert enough pressure on Govt of India to take up this case with Govt of USA so that no innocent IITian is put to such hardship ever again in USA. We have met External Affairs Minister twice wherein he admitted of something fishy in this case but does not seem to have courage to write to President Obama or US attorney General Eric Holder to look at the details of the case. My legal research on the case suggests that if one of these two individuals take a look at the details of the case, they will be ashamed of their judiciary and will release Vikram within no time.
